For several years the Elroy Lions Club has sponsored a free Christmas movie for area youth at the Elroy Theatre. Several Lions Club members remembered watching a free Christmas movie as children, and Juneau County's only movie theatre seemed like the proper place to bring back the event. Each year nearly a hundred children and their parents enjoy a movie suitable for children provided to the Lions at cost by the theatre owners . Upon their arrival the children were presented a coupon to use at the concession stand, then after the movie everyone was treated to a visit from Santa as they left the theater.
